Hawaiian Airlines 787-9 Safety Card

In 2020 I was honored to work with Hawaiian Airlines and local designer/art director, Noa Emberson, on a full set of illustrations for the safety cards for new Hawaiian Airlines 787-9 aircraft.

I was tasked with the illustrations art directed by Noa who also designed the layout. Together, we navigated the FAA safety rules along with specific details of the aircraft’s operations.

Our goal was to convey the safety instructions in a clear and concise way while infusing the card with local flavor and cultural diversity. Look out for popular Hawai’i icons such as the spam musubi, a paniolo hat, body boarding fins, shaka stickers, flowers, aloha attire and many more references to local and Hawaiian culture.
